FAQ for new members

We have compiled answers to frequently asked questions below.

Are all the events in the calendar included in the membership, or do I have to pay separately for some of them?

As a member, you can register for all events listed in the calendar at no extra cost. In addition to the events in the calendar, we organise courses and trial classes, some of which have a separate participation fee. Registration for these events with an additional fee takes place via our online shop or through our organising partner, and they do not appear in the calendar at all. Courses and trial classes are listed on their own page.

Why was I given a sanction, and can it be lifted?

A member will automatically be subject to a three-day booking ban if they have not confirmed the events they have registered for, nor have they cancelled them. The booking ban applies after just one event has been left unconfirmed or uncancelled. This sanction cannot be lifted. Please read the instructions on registration, confirmation and cancellation.

Why can’t I sign up for the gym shift shown in the calendar?

You do not need to, nor can you, sign up for gym shifts via the calendar. Note that you must sign up for all other events in the calendar.

What equipment do I need to bring to an instructed class? What about a ball game shift?

Comfortable sportswear and a water bottle are the most important items for all our classes. For instructed classes, all the necessary equipment and exercise mats are provided on site. For most ball game shifts, equipment is available to borrow or hire on site, but if you have your own equipment, it’s worth bringing it with you. You can find more detailed information about the equipment required or borrowing options in the description of each session.

Which classes and shifts are suitable for a beginner?

You should definitely give instructed classes a go. Our instructors are professionals who know how to offer alternatives with varying levels of difficulty. You’re also allowed to take breaks during the classes if you feel you need them. Some ball game shifts, such as volleyball, are divided into levels to ensure that everyone can enjoy the game. You can also join the open-level sessions even if you’re a beginner.

Where are the events in the calendar taking place, and how do I find the right venue?

You’ll see the name of the sports venue immediately below the event name in the calendar. Next to each event in the calendar, there’s a link to the ‘Sports facilities’ page, where you’ll find addresses and videos with directions. Any access codes for doors and gates can be found in the event description. If there is no code, the doors will be open or there will be staff on site to let participants in. Please make sure you arrive on time – at many venues, the doors are locked once the event has started!
