Answer to Students on the Move -survey!

Do you wish there were breaks from staying still during lectures? Would you like your learning environment to be more encouraging to be active?

The Students on the Move is a national programme to increase physical activity among students and improve their capacity to study in upper secondary education and higher education. The average university student sits for more than 10 hours a day. Prolonged sitting and other sedentary behaviour does not only make your body stiff, but also numbs the brain. Physical activity can be part of the study day in many ways. Getting up and moving around while studying improves concentration and enhances memory functions, among other things, which results in better learning outcomes.

Students on the Move -survey will help you to assess your own physical activity during the study day and your educational institution’s practices related to physical activity. Oamk and University of Oulu will get information about students’ views on practices related to physical activity during the study day and can use this information in the development of activities that support physical activity. We do not ask the respondent’s name in the form and respondents cannot be identified. The information collected with the form will also be used to develop the national Students on the Move activities and research.
